Artist's Comments

A group shot of some recent wolf masks, since they looked nice together.

Wolf masks seem to be a very popular item.

Very nice. And a silly question: do you hand paint the color on? I've been trying to figure out how you get those subtle hues -- fabric dyes of somesort?

If I ever find the money to get a fursuit made, it'll definitely be of a hyrax or a rat. Take that all you wolves. Ha!

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" was his response.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

Yeah, I handpaint my colors on using a paintbrush. Some people prefer airbrushes, but I prefer the control and versatility of a paintbrush.

As far as types of dye, for the most part I use spirit-based leather dyes (the spirit-based is very important). The color adheres to fur quite well, especially after it's had about a week to fully solidify. I also use highly diluted acrylic or fabric paints for certain things, like tipping the fur. That sounds like it would totally ruin the texture of the fur, but surprisingly it doesn't. It may leave a little bit of a "feel" on the fur sometimes, but nothing terrible, or much worse than any other dye.

Anyway, that was a really long answer.
YAY! Cool :D I see a Shadow (at least i presume its my one :D) Looks Awesome!!!

I have to admire how fast you can make these masks and make them effectively and without sparing any detail. It doesn't seem like it's too long before I see something new and awesome.

There is a lot of expression in your realism, it's very deep and the lighting in this adds to that greatly. Very thought provoking.

Can't wait to see what you've got coming up!
