Something I've been wondering: do you think that a person with very minimal tools can make costumes like these?

Not at this level, of course, but something that could be of passing quality? I have a sewing machine, some skill sculpting and an idea, but I imagine there is a steep (and unforgiving) learning curve with this.

you are probably not gonna succeed the first time, :) but there are people who make instruction videos on youtube, and a lot of people who make these suits also sell stuff like jaw setts and pre-made eyes, that might help :D I think you should do it, with a little practice you might be able to do really well!!
