Qi-Lin by Qarrezel Qi-Lin by Qarrezel
A mask of a Qi-Lin, sometimes referred to as a Chinese Unicorn despite that it has two horns. This is obviously my own take on the Qi-Lin and so any mythological inaccuracies are my own artistic liberties.

The mane is wefted Kanekalon (synthetic weave hair), and the antlers are cast resin with attached screw posts to make them removable for transport.

your creations are quite amazing.!!!!
the Fur to use is very expensive? (also the synthetic hair)

It's fairly expensive as fabrics go, but not that bad. The fur is $20-$30 per yard, and the hair is about $4 per packet. It takes about 5 packets to weft a mane of this size.

No, most people probably wouldn't want to do something like that. It's a really uncomfortable sort of costume to perform in, so it would be impractical for more than very quick appearances, and probably not a lot of people want to invest that much money in a short-stint costume.
I'd be happy to do it if someone approached me about it, of course.

it would probably be easier if it was lion dance style.

Hehe, that would be fun. My personal masks are actually on display in my house most of the time; they're only removed for their one or two convention/festival appearances. They make fun decorations - certainly not what a lot of people might expect upon coming through the door.

you do such beautiful work, you should work in film. Your creations are so life like yet keep the fantasy feel, it's what a lot of good films have been missing ^^

I agree, although the problem isn't lack of talent or artistry in that field, it's just that no one is making neat fantasy films anymore. I need to make some awesome films, is what I need to do. One day I will be able to afford this camera I'm eyeing.
