Xixin costume design by Qarrezel Xixin costume design by Qarrezel
Design for a current costume (Xixin) - an ocean and night themed Rahier.

Design done in collaboration with ~un-do - I did the lines, she did the lovely colors, and we both discussed and planned the design through the whole process.

Oooh, so beautiful. Say, do you do reptiles?
And... how do you pronounce that? I read it like chin-chin (not ksin-ksin as it's spelled), but I'm almost sure I'm wrong.

Sorta like "ZEEK-zin" (although the X's should probably be pronounced a bit more like "ks" than "z" but close enough)

Re: reptiles - yes and no. Scales are a challenge. We can do some effects, so it depends on the design at this point.

That is truely amazing. And such gorgeous details! I've always loved such seashells, and to use them as inspirations is just a brilliant idea! As said above, I can't wait to see the finished product, and of course when it's your product it will turn out truely amazing. Each time you draw something like this, or start on a new project I'm simply amazed and surprised each time I see the finished product. I think I should stop beeing so surprised soon, as your products never disapoint. Keep doing your fantastic work, Clockwork Creature!! You're truely the best!

What are you planning on using to get the pearlescent effect on the horns?

Iridescent paints should do the trick

Is there a good brand for those? I can't seem to find any in my area :/.

Jaquard is my preferred brand. I typically mail-order them. Lumiere is a pre-mixed super concentrated acrylic line [link] and pearl-Ex is a powdered pearl pigment line (mix with other paints or clear medium) [link]

Those look like amazing paints! May I ask, do you know if they would work well on leather? It can be a porous material and so far, the only pearlescent/metallic paints I've found that have worked (when I say "worked" I mean, two coats instead of five like the cheap folkart paints I tried at first) are Golden liquid acrylic metallic paints. Which a tiny little bottle can get costly when you need several for one project.

Thank you so much for sharing the links/products you use!!

I think they can work on leather, but I'm not sure how far they go, as far as coverage.
